Pinocchio
ACT I
We are greeted by Grillo, a cricket, who lives in Geppetto's Puppet Shop in
Salerno, Italy.  The town is preparing for
THE FESTIVAL OF SPRING.  When
Geppetto arrives home, Fedelia gives him the dinner she has prepared.  
After all these years, she still takes care of him.  Fedelia leaves and Geppetto
goes to work on his new puppet, Pinocchio.  Somehow he senses that
Pinocchio understands everything he is saying to him.  Geppetto wishes that
Pinocchio could be his son...a real boy.  
ENOUGH FOR ME. It's time for bed,
so Geppetto and Grillo both got to sleep.  All of a sudden the bluest light
appears...it's the Blue Fairy.  She heard Geppetto's wish and has been
"whished"to his puppetshop.  Grillo wakes up and she asks him where
Pinocchio is.  The Blue Fairy brings Pinocchio to life and tells Grillo to look
after him.  Later that night, and evil puppet master, Scellerato and his two
bumbling sidekicks, Manesta and Funesto enter the town square of Salerno
seeking their next location for their scheme.  Realizing that Manesta and
Funesto left their puppet trunk in the last town, Scellerato decides to
buysome of Geppetto's puppets so he will be able to have his
GRAND
OPERA OF PUPPETRY.
 The next morning, Geppetto wakes up to discover
that Pinocchio can talk.  Instantly he wants him to walk and act like a real boy
but Pinocchio falls flat on his face. So Geppetto and Grillo start teaching
Pinocchio how to walk.  Even though he wants to stop each time he fails, they
keep telling him "Just say to yourself...."  
I GOTTA TRY.  All of a sudden,
there is a knock at the door. It is Scellerato.  He wants to buy Pinocchio for
his Grand Opera of Puppetry but Pinochhio is not for sale.  Once he leaves,
Geppetto takes Pinocchio to get him something to eat.  The town square is
full of festivity.  Pinocchio loves all of the excitement.  
I GOTTA TRY Reprise.
Fedelia meets Pinocchio and realizes that he's the wooden puppet Geppetto
was working on.  While they are talking, Pinocchio follows the school children
down the street.  They make fun of Pinochhio, so he tells them that his father
is a king.  All of sudden, his nose starts to grown and he runs away.  
Scellerato sees the little wooden puppet running down the street without
strings.  If he can get the puppet, his Grand Opera of Puppetry with by
MY
MASTERPIECE.
 Meanwhile, Grillo has followed Pinochhio.  He says, "If the
Blue Fairy were here, she'd know what to do."  
Poof! The Blue Fairy appears,
tells Pinocchio the consequence of lying, returns his nose back to normal and
whishes off.  Manesta and Funesto catch up with Pinocchio.  They trick him
into performing in Scellerato's new puppet show.
As the star of the show, Pinocchio is finally
STANDING ON MY OWN TWO
FEET
.  Manesta and Funesto try to pick up all the money that has been
thrown at Pinocchio.  But he grabs some and runs from them.  They catch up
with him and tell him how he can double his money.  Schellerato enters
disguised as a jester followed by the town's children.  They talk Pinocchio into
going with them to Asino Island where they won't have to do chores and can
eat all the sweets they want.  Geppetto and Fedelia return back to the show,
exhausted from looking for Pinocchio.  The townspeople tell them that they
are looking for their children too.  Geppetto knows that he must find his "son",
wherever he is.  Fedelia wants to go with him but Geppetto needs her to stay
there. Fedelia knows that Geppetto is the
THE ONE I'M WAITING FOR.
ACT II
Pinocchio and the children arrive at Asino Island loving their freedom.  
STANDING ON MY OWN TWO FEET Reprise.  Scellerato has baked
special cookies with a potion in them.  The children gobble them down, only
to discover that the cookies turn them into donkeys.  Pinocchio and Grillo
make their escape from Scellerato.  Manesta and Funesto, once again, are
chasing after the little wooden puppet that hs caused them so much trouble.
 Once PInocchio and GRillo reach the seashore, Pinocchio declares that he
is going to swim home.  Poor Grillo has no choice but to jump in after him.  
Back in Salerno, Manesta and Funesto arrive, having rowed all the way
back.  Worn to a nub, they reflect on their plight in life and relive their
dream of fame.  
HAVE IT ALL  While swimming back, Pinocchio and Grillo
are swallowed by The Whale.  In the whale's belly, they see Geppetto.  He
has been swallowed by the whale while looking for Pinocchio.  Pinocchio
tells him all that has happened and what he has learned from these
adventures.  They both finally realize that they have each other as their
family.  At that moment, the Blue Fairy appears.
THE MIRACLE IS IN YOUR
HEART
.  The Blue Fairy make the whale sneeze which releases Geppetto,
Pinocchio and Grillos so they can return home.  At the puppet shop, the
Blue Fairy appears to Fedelia to let her know that Geppetto and Pinocchio
are safe and returning home.  Once they are reunited, Fedelia goes home
and Geppetto, Pinocchio and Grillo are off to bed.  While asleep, the Blue
Fairy hears Grillo wishing that Pinocchio was a real boy and grants his wish.
The next morning, Scellerato enters with the "donkeys" so he can sell them
to the townspeople.  Pinocchio tells of his evil plan and his is arrested.  
Pinocchio makes a wish, which turns all of the donkeys back into children.  
Everyone is reunited with their families, even Grillo with a girl cricket, just in
time for
THE FESTIVAL OF SPRING  finale.
